Sustainable business practices are an important platform for creating long-term value and fundamental to being a successful, professionally-managed and reputable company.
That platform is based on two overarching areas of corporate responsibility:
- Corporate Governance
- Corporate Social Responsibility.
|Corporate Governance||Corporate Social Responsibility|
|Good Corporate Governance brings energy and credibility to our decision-making and communications processes and enhances stakeholder confidence in Pacific Basin as a partner and a place to invest. We are committed to maintaining sound internal controls, transparency and accountability to all stakeholders.||CSR is about recognising our responsibilities to the safety and wellbeing of our staff, the environment and the communities in which we operate. Our commitment to CSR positively impacts our reputation, financial performance and shareholder value.|
Our sustainability reporting follows the Hong Kong Stock Exchange's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting Guide. However, consistent with common international corporate reporting practice, we continue to address ESG/sustainability subjects on our website and in our Annual Report under the headings of:
(a) Corporate Governance; and
(b) Corporate Social Responsibility (or "CSR")
(Available on 16 Mar 2016)
We frequently receive industry recognition for the quality of our corporate governance, investor relations and commercial, technical, safety and CSR management, and we are proud to be stewards of best practices across these areas.
